When Sophie and I were asked if we'd be able to get a portion of our duet for solo contest ready 2 months early, we weren't sure. It took a lot of work but we were able to do it. Dance of the Drums is a percussion duet written by Gene Koshinski that requires one player to play runs across 3 tom-toms and a bass drum while blowing into a conch shell, while the other player players complex fills on congas and bongos.
