I was so sick of this song when we did this as it was in my marching band show that year. Composer Notes: Written in 1960 for the Fire of Eternal Glory burning at Heroes Square for the defenders of the Great Patriotic War, Shostakovich's chorale prelude is full of emotion and strength. It's fairly short and would make an excellent concert opener!
