This piece might have been ambitious for an honor band but the timpani part was fun! Composer Notes: This really sparkles, with a wonderful variety of tonal colors and vigorous rhythmic figures throughout! Every meter change and variance of timbre and texture serves a purpose in the overall scheme, and the result is a powerful work that is much more than the sum of its parts. On the challenging side of the medium level, this is guaranteed to be well worth every minute of rehearsal time spent. Very highly recommended!
