Spirits of the Secret Woods is my first original composition. It was written to be premiered at the JHS Spring Swing concert. It features 3 main sections. The first section starts with spooky sounds produced by bowing crotales and cymbals. It then goes into a vibraphone duet in a minor key. The second section is a drum section featuring runs across 4 tom-toms, congas, and bongos. The third section is a sort of jazzy section, solely written to fit the jazz theme of the concert. The piece ends by returning to the first theme and fading out.
